I have been thinking on and off about this for some time:
I would make the British Museum my U.K. palace and live in a set of rooms built into special nest created around the reading room in the great hall. The remainder of the museum (as in all of my palaces) would remain open to the people. They would adore me and so assassination would not concern me.
I would then encourage the use of addictive drugs which would be controlled by the state. This would ensure a degree of obedience and stability. ...
There would be more art and less stuff. By which I mean that consumption of renewable products such as songs and plays locally would be more important to the economy than useless tat which soaks up natural resources.
There would be less air travel. But at the age of 18 youngsters would embark on something akin to the journeyman traveller stage of their life. This large itinerant work force would cycle around the globe taking on junior positions vacated by other young people who have moved onto their next stage. Positions would be vacated and filled quickly using the internet.
In this way young people would gain travel, experience of other cultures but work at the same time and fully understand their profession in various contexts. This need not be their job for life and they could put off this journey until they were 21. Some would travel further and for longer than others. It would however be compulsory for all to do it for a little while at least.
Language barriers would be overcome as I would make it law that all people be psychic.... Read more
I have more but I should probably get on with my current job which is not unfortunately, "ruler of the world"
